Date Night in Brisbane

By: Katrina Lubiano

There’s no doubt that having children will change the dynamic of your relationships. Raising children is considered one of the most rewarding aspects of life, but it is also challenging round-the-clock work that requires your full attention. Since there are only 24 hours in one day, and I'm sure your daily to-do-list has a million and one tasks to cross off, your home might need an extra pair of hands once in a while so you can make time for yourself and your partner.

Did you know that mini Nanny Agency can help you arrange a sitter for the night? All you need to do is give us 48-hour notice, so you can rest assured your little treasures will be well taken care of so you can enjoy your kid-free date night!

We've rounded up a few date night ideas for you in the Brisbane area:

1. People Watching

This date is super easy, and low key. Take a stroll along Eagle Street Pier, and maybe walk through the botanical gardens to people watch and soak in nature within the bustling city. There isn't a shortage of cafes, restaurants, and pubs here. You can stop anywhere along your walk that you find that best suits the vibe for your date.

River Bar & Kitchen has a great view of the Story Bridge, with an amazing menu. This restaurant does early breakfast, and lunch but is absolutely stunning in the evening, lit up in fairy lights.

2. Paint Night

You can find Paint Night classes at your local pubs. Life With Paint makes it easy to set up a date night. Simply browse their website for the variety of different paintings you can do, pick the date and the pub most convenient to you, and give Mini a ring so we can sort out a nanny for the evening.

You don't have to be the next Rembrandt to bring home something beautiful. Don't be intimidated by the paintings; the teachers are amazing and make the paintings really approachable.

3. Dance the Night Away

Make your next Thursdate a Salsa night at Cloudland! Located in Fortitude Valley, they have live music with free salsa classes between 8-9pm. Cloudland has a great atmosphere and is the place to go if you want to dance the night away. Even with my two left feet, salsa night at Cloudland was a lot of fun and something I would totally go to again.

If you're a little shy about your moves on the dance floor, you can also build your confidence and get in some quality time with some dance classes together. Rio Rhythmics offers formal dance classes that cater to any level.

4. Wine Tasting at Grape Therapy

There's an upcoming FREE event at Grape Therapy Wine Merchant & Drinking Den on Monday, October 24th. RSVP! There still might be spots available for their "Italian Experience" wine tasting with Dru Thomas.

Grape Therapy is also hosting a "Long Lunch" 3-course meal paired with wine from the Lous Roederer Range for the Melbourne Cup on November 1st.

5. Kayaking on the Brisbane River

Riverlife offers a night paddle and BBQ along the Brisbane river. This 90-minute illuminated kayaking tour gives you a new perspective of the river where you'll check out Brisbane's iconic bridges. After your paddle, you'll come back to Kangaroo point for a BBQ and some drinks.

Riverlife also offers regular kayaking, paddle boarding, bike rentals and rock-climbing classes on Kangaroo Point. If you're looking for an adventure-filled date, Riverlife will set you up right!
